For the 2nd year in a row, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Ohio was a participant in Convoy of Hope. For the 2nd year in a row, we were awed by the generosity, kindness and spirit of this humbling event.
We help children every day so we know just how much a little extra attention, understanding and friendliness can do for a child. Watching the children (and some adults) walk out of the shoe tent with their brand new shoes on was an moving experience. For some it was their first pair of new shoes. Add in all of the other services Convoy of Hope offered, most of which were dontated, like free dental care, haircuts, family photos, health screening, groceries and pet supplies, and you can't help but be proud to be a part of this community.
We had many parents stop at our table and fill out applications so that their children could become part of our program and get a Big Brother or Big Sisters of their own. Now, we hope that we can find men and women willing to become these Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
